Travel day yesterday. We took the ferry over to Finland. Met our friends in Katatonia and Klogr. Great seeing the guys again. Uneventful evening, for me. Went to bed almost immediately.
Today, we’re in Turku. Very nice venue. Big.
Had breakfast (coffee and a sandwich. Very nice bread) and listened to Olafur Arnalds ”A Dawning”. What an album…
Soundcheck was a bit chaotic. The local crew had patched some cables wrong, so it took some time to sort that out.
For being the first show of the tour I’d say it was pretty good. A bit nerve-wracking as we have a guitar player named Stephen Platt (Scar Symmetry, ex Devin Townsend) filling in for Henrik, who is taking a break from the band. He did a magnificent job learning the songs in a very short amount of time.
All in all, a very good first day of the tour.
Oh yeah, the food was great, too. Chicken and rice.
Now sleep.
